Visitor Information

Welcome to Rocky Mount, where the North meets the South and we blend together northern character with southern charm. We hope you will consider visiting this beautiful community and come back many times.

Accommodations

For accommodations visitors have a variety of options. The area has more than 2,000 rooms offering up a comfortable place to rest your head. So, whether you are coming for a nice long visit or you are an I-95 road warrior needing an overnight resting stop; please come on in, kick off your shoes and stay awhile.

Dining

Dining around here is like everything else in the South, slow and easy. We like to take our time, enjoy the food and the company. This region of North Carolina is known for some really great BBQ. We also have a variety of offerings with Mexican, Chinese and Italian being a few highlights. Come early and come hungry!

Arts, Culture & Entertainment

There’s more here than meets the eye. Throughout the year our region enjoys music festivals, art exhibits, and theatric performances. With the Imperial Centre, Dunn Center for the Performing Arts, the Bel Air Artisans Center and the Booker T Theatre we have it goin’ on.

Sports & Recreation

We like to think that because of our four-season climate here in the region, outdoor enthusiasts find it enjoyable year round. Our central location only adds to the options. We have it all from swimming to golf; bike trails to baseball. We invite you to come enjoy life along the Tar River.
