Relocation

Opportunity doesn't just knock here, it lives here!

Those that are native here know it, those that reside here embrace it, those that travel through here recognize it and create a tourism impact of approximately $195 million on the Rocky Mount area economy.

Rocky Mount is situated at the juncture of two major highways, I-95 and US Hwy 64; and is positioned as the regional retail center of Northeastern North Carolina serving a 300,000 population base and attracting businesses that draw from a 34-40 mile radius.

In addition the area is home to the Southeast's rail transportation system's regional hub...all creating opportunity for commerce and economic impact on the area.  Rocky Mount is located just east of the metropolitan triangle area and State Capitol strategically positioning the area as the Gateway to the Eastern Seaboard.

Throughout its history, the Tar River has played a major role in the life of the area - from the founding of the community with the location of the first post office in 1816 and one of the first cotton mills in the state - Rocky Mount Mills, its strategic importance from the Civil War era to the present time, its impact on an entire community during a 500-year flood; the river's water was, and still is, one of our most precious and essential resources.

A community of 62,000, Rocky Mount uniquely sits in both Edgecombe and Nash Counties and boasts a temperate climate, scenic beauty, good abundant cropland and is steeped with significant origin.  It enjoys a rich history surrounding the banks of the Tar River where a massive stone ledge, originally known as "the rocky mound", forms the great Falls of the Tar River.

The community is diverse and the citizens, well... the folks are just plain nice and include a host of notable and famous native sons and daughters - recently labeled as a great Southern city of the new South with a "Can Do" attitude.  The business climate has endured a metamorphosis and thrived - moving from manufacturing, textiles, and agriculture to over 93% small businesses - enabling a flourishing entrepreneurial community with major distribution facilities and manufacturers of aerospace, elevator, foodservice and hospital products.  Historic, unique and leisurely communities in Twin Counties - both urban and rural - provide a number of lifestyle options for citizens.  The area has a strong faith-based community as well as a dedicated mindset to how our diversity impacts our greatness and builds a stronger future.

Join us for a little while or for the duration...opportunity is a great neighbor and makes calling Rocky Mount home real nice.
