Signature Events

We encourage you to participate in any number of events and programs we offer. Tailor your participation to those areas that are of great interest to you. If you are a social butterfly and your position requires you to make contacts, then our Expo events or Annual Meeting might be just the right venue for you; if you are more interested in learning about the issues that impact business then you might want to register for our Legislative Forums or attend the Economic Summit. We develop our programs with you, the Member, in mind.

Chamber Events offer strategic alignment for business awareness and can often help you connect further for broader reach among consumers and the community at-large.  Supporting sponsorships enable Chamber events for the membership and engaged businesses tend to gain broader alliances through their alignment.

Annual Meeting (January)
Each year we call together our membership to welcome in a new Board of Directors, a new Chairman of the Board, and honor our community leaders. This event is typically the highest profile event of the year and is considered by members to be “The Event” not to miss.

Economic Summit (April)
On an annual basis we must bring together our members to discuss future economies, current economic influencers and forecast what the region’s business environment could possibly be in the near term and several years in the future. Although one of the smaller Signature Event, for our business leaders who like to keep a close watch on economic indicators, this is a must do event.

NEER Banquet (May)
On an annual basis we must bring together business leaders, small business owners and entrepreneurs throughout the region to discuss trends and recognize entrepreneurs who have made a significant impact within the region. One Entrepreneur of the Year is selected annually.

Small Business Banquet (June)
Each year we celebrate Small Businesses throughout the entire month of June. Our celebration culminates with our Small Business Banquet at which we present several awards to local small businesses. In terms of highlighting small business and the impact on our local economy, this event is truly a hallmark for our Chamber.  If know of a business success you'd like to share (self-nominations welcome), let us know -

Each year our Chamber partners with the North Carolina Department of Labor to host a regional banquet to recognize "Excellence in Safety" of area businesses.

Fall Outing (October)
Every Chamber must have it’s fun and this particular event is purely about celebrating life in the Tar River Region. Typically we have over 600 people gathered together enjoying food, beverage and live entertainment. If you are into the social scene or need to meet and greet with our business community, this event will surely accomplish that.

Education Summit (November)
This event focuses on Education within the region. An in depth discussions and highlights from all education sources, providers and agencies. The agenda can cover anything from Early Childhood Education to Adult Learning and everything in between. This particular event is presented in partnership with the Strategic Twin Counties Education Partnership (S.T.E.P.)
