The new practice, called Nash Surgery, will open June 30th and will be located in the Medical Office Building on the Nash UNC Health Care campus. Dr. David Seaman, of Nash Surgical Associates, will serve as the medical director of the practice. Dr. Seaman has been practicing in the Rocky Mount community for over 15 years. He will be joined by Dr. Douglas Harrison, of Boice-Willis Clinic, who has been practicing locally for 29 years. “The opening of this practice is a clear sign of our commitment to the community,” said Dr. Seaman. “For our patients, it means greater access to their surgical team and the convenience of having their treatment in one central location.” Dr. Seaman and Dr. Harrison will be joined by three additional surgeons later this year. Dr. Caron Warnsby, who is relocating from Michigan, will join the practice in July. Dr. Veronica Zachry, a general surgeon completing her residency at UT Chattanooga this summer, will join the practice in August. A fifth surgeon is being actively recruited. By employing its own team of surgeons, Nash UNC Health Care is providing patients the opportunity to interact with their physician before and after their procedure, forming a valuable relationship. “Our patients have expressed a desire to know their surgical team better,” said L. Lee Isley, president and CEO of Nash UNC Health Care. “By opening this practice and assembling a team of local surgeons, we can ensure that our patients receive top quality care from a local, familiar physician.” The hospital currently retains a team of surgicalists, general surgeons dedicated to providing urgent and emergent surgical care in the hospital. They do not provide consultations or outpatient clinics. Under the new program, the community’s surgeons will live and work in the community, allowing patients more access to their providers. The practice will be managed by UNC Physicians Network (UNCPN), which currently supports over 90 primary and specialty care clinics in the eastern half of the state. In its management role, UNCPN will provide operational support to the practice, ensuring the expertise and care of the UNC Health system is delivered to all Nash Surgery patients. ### About Nash UNC Health Care Nash UNC Health Care is a non-profit hospital authority comprised of four licensed hospitals totaling 345 beds: Nash General Hospital, Nash Day Hospital, Coastal Plain Hospital, and the Bryant T.
