NCWU Earns 2023-2024 Military Friendly® School Gold Designation North Carolina Wesleyan University announced today that it has earned the 2023-2024 Military Friendly® School Gold designation. Institutions earning the Military Friendly® School designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a propriety survey. More than 1,800 schools participated in the 2023-2024 survey with 665 earning special awards for going above the standard. Read more. NCWU Students Take Action on Mental Health Four international students at North Carolina Wesleyan University have teamed up to develop a course and textbook that promotes mental well-being among their peers. The Wesleyan Mindset - Inner Journey Journal is the brainchild of former student-athletes Gregor Baum (Germany) and Harjot "Hardy" Singh (New Zealand), with help from sisters Candela Conde Latini and Delfina Conde Latini (Argentina) on design and layout. Both Gregor and Harjot independently took the initiative to create this resource, not as a required class project, completing it in a few short months during the fall 2022 semester. Read more. NCWU Freshman Finishes Third in Nation North Carolina Wesleyan Track and Field freshman Ahnia Cherry finished third in the nation in the 60M event at the NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships recently. Cherry is now the highest-ever finisher in NCWU Track & Field program history and was the only freshman in the country to place in that event. Alumni CONNECTS Held Alumni, faculty and staff renewed old friendships and created new ones at the NCWU Alumni CONNECTS held in March in Greenville and Rocky Mount. Alumni were treated to an evening of food, prizes and updates on their alma mater at each event. The Greenville and Rocky Mount CONNECTS were co-sponsored by the NCWU Alumni Association Board. An Alumni CONNECT was also held at Carolina Ale House in Raleigh on February 9. Reserve Your Wesleyan Memorial Brick ?Students, organizations, parents, alumni, and community supporters now have the opportunity to inscribe their names at North Carolina Wesleyan University. The Office of Advancement is selling bricks to be placed at the entrance located at the south end of the Pearsall Library addition, or at the Leon Russell Chapel entrance. Your brick will be a permanent tribute on the NCWU campus and a special way to support NCWU. Shop the University Bookstore The Dunn Center for the Performing Arts Upcoming Shows The Mims and Gravely Galleries at The Dunn Center Fantastic Little Paintings by artist, Bob Ross, is set to adorn the walls of The Mims and Gravely Galleries at The Dunn Center from November 2, 2023 through January 4, 2024. This will be the first time a Bob Ross exhibit has been to North Carolina. With 100 paintings, this will be the largest exhibition ever seen under one roof globally.
