The Small Business Wellness Clinic is BACK! In Fall 2020, the Small Business Center launched the Small Business Wellness Clinic. This clinic was funded by a $50,000 grant from the 2020 COVID-19 Recovery Act to provide counseling to small business owners during the 2020 coronavirus pandemic. Many small businesses in Nash and Edgecombe County are still struggling with questions about the survival and health of their businesses after being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. This clinic helped small businesses affected by COVID-19 assess business issues and develop a “treatment plan”. The “treatment plan” included counseling services to assist with navigating next steps in business recovery, understanding reopening phases and being partnered with a licensed professional to address specific needs during a one hour session at no cost to the client. It is our pleasure to welcome the Small Business Wellness Clinic back! For businesses and entrepreneurs who were affected by the pandemic are encouraged to apply for assistance through the clinic. We will discuss any aspect of the client’s business that they are currently experiencing issues with, whether that be addressing financial matters, restoring operation under the “new norm” or organizing your business’ plan for recovery. This clinic will provide the resources needed to evaluate the health of the small business, connect the business with available resources and help to make progress through long-term recovery. Potential clients of the Small Business Wellness Clinic must request an appointment in order to receive a phone-based, on-site, in office or video-call consultation. The clinic will operate on a schedule that will allow for a minimum of three appointments per client. The appointments will be categorized as: · Initial Appointment WITH THE SMALL BUSINESS CENTER The initial one-hour appointment will discuss the business, and business issues they are currently experiencing due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A treatment plan will be created based on the information discussed in the initial appointment. · Referral to Specialist WITH SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT In accordance with the treatment plan, the business will be referred to a specialist to address specific needs. All third parties involved in the Small Business Wellness Clinic will provide one-hour sessions at no cost to the client. These third parties will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement. · Follow-up Appointment WITH THE SMALL BUSINESS CENTER The follow-up appointment will discuss issues addressed on the treatment plan and review the business’ recovery plan.
