Nash Health Care Systems is a non-profit hospital authority comprised of four licensed hospitals totaling 345 beds: Nash General Hospital, Nash Day Hospital, Coastal Plain Hospital, and the Bryant T. Aldridge Rehabilitation Center. Nash General Hospital
NGH is a 272-bed, acute-care facility that began admitting patients in 1971. Since first opening its doors, this hospital has aggressively implemented new operational strategies and continues to acquire the latest in high-tech equipment. In 2004, Nash Health Care opened a state-of-the-art, $26 million Surgery Pavilion. This 84,000 square-foot facility features seven operating rooms, a da Vinci surgical system, 14 pre-op rooms and 13 recovery rooms. In 2014, Nash Health Care opened a new, 66,000 square-foot Emergency Department with a dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department, one of only eight in North Carolina at that time. Nash Heart Center is located directly above the Emergency Department, reducing transport time for cardiovascular services to only seconds. Nash Women's Center opened on Mother's Day 2016 with over 47,000 square feet of space dedicated to obstetrical services: Six labor and delivery rooms, a dedicated room for cesarean sections/recovery, 16 mother-baby postpartum rooms, and 12 special care nursery rooms. Expansion of the new UNC Cancer Care at Nash begins in 2017. Nash Day Hospital
Opened in 1984, Nash Day Hospital was North Carolina’s first freestanding hospital offering treatments and surgeries on an outpatient basis. The forward-thinking day hospital continues to broaden its scope of services to satisfy the growing trend toward outpatient procedures. Coastal Plain Hospital
Coastal Plain Hospital is a 50-bed mental health facility offering comprehensive adult inpatient treatment for mental health and substance abuse. Bryant T. Aldridge Rehabilitation Center
Often referred to as BTAR (Bee’-Tar), this 23-bed, CARF-accredited facility opened in 1999 offering comprehensive rehabilitation services. Compassionate, knowledgeable therapists, with the latest exercise equipment, overhead suspension system, and a therapy pool create an environment that paves the way to recovery for many eastern North Carolina residents.
-Nash General Hospital opened in 1971 and was the first to offer all private rooms. Private hospital rooms, now common in the U.S., are not a “given” in many European and Canadian hospitals. -UNC Cardiology at Nash has board-certified, interventional cardiologists on staff utilizing two Innova® state-of-the-art, fully-integrated imaging suites for diagnostic heart catheterizations and stent placement. -Nash Health Care is an Advanced Primary Stroke Center as designated by the Joint Commission. -Nursing Services at Nash once again achieved renewal of its Pathway to Excellencedesignation in 2017, recognizing this hospital as offering a positive practice environment where nurses can excel. -The Nash Wound Care Center is the only facility in our service area offering hyperbaric oxygen chamber therapy for chronic wounds. -Nash is an accredited Center for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
