All parents and their children are encouraged to come out and participate in the fun-filled Harvest and Halloween style event this night. This event is open to all families and will not have any event fee or registration required. There will be a "treat trail" that allows all kids to "trick-or-treat" to the different stations inside the YMCA, do an acitivity and get their treat as a reward for being active! They will be given a "character completion card" when they first arrive to the event at the check-in table with a small bag to collect treats in. Upon checking in, everyone is open to explore the event! Our departments will have a variety of activities going on throughout the building including arts & crafts, face paiting, carnival games, cupcake walks, family exercises, a super hero costume contest, cornhole, a floating pumpkin patch in the pool, a healthy recipe book fundraiser and more! All activities are in great fun to show children that you will get rewarded for being active and working hard to accomplish something. The Y also encourages everyone to dress like their favorite super hero. The character completion cards that will be given to each child, will have each activity listed on the card. Once they complete the activity and get their treat, they will get that activity checked off on their card to show what they accomplished! The back of this card will also give the definition of the Y’s Character Traits: Honesty, Caring, Respect and Responsibility. The card will also have a surprise coupon for parents! If all activities are filled up on the card, your child will win a super fun prize! Kids can take this home as a reminder to live by these character traits just like their favorite super hero AND they can see everything they accomplished! For more information, contact Alyssa Matthews, Marketing & Development Director at 252-972-9622 ext.232 or visit harrisonfamilyy.org.
