Friday, February 2, 2018 Tobacco Trust Fund Supports NCC Vet Tech Program Nash Community College has been awarded $136,739 by the North Carolina Tobacco Trust Fund Commission to provide support for the new Veterinary Medical Technology (VMT) program. The "From Farm to Vet Tech" project funding will assist with the purchase of instructional, clinical and lab equipment for students to prepare for careers in the field of veterinary medicine. From Farm to Vet Tech is a NCC workforce initiative that will utilize the implementation of a new Associate of Applied Science degree in Veterinary Medical Technology to help address a gap in the region's workforce. NCC Names Snell 2017 Staff Award Recipient Linda Snell of Pinetops, Nash Community College's Conference Center Manager, was selected by her peers as the 2017 J. Edgar and Peggie T. Moore Staff Award recipient. She has been employed with Nash Community College since 2014. Thanks to Linda's exceptional work, Nash Community College's meeting facilities are in high demand as a known resource to the local community and region. The Nash Community College conference centers allow the college to host events that not only engage current students, but also attract the local community to campus providing awareness to the community. Linda Snell attended Lock Haven State College. As a committed lifelong learner, she also obtained the credential of Certified Hotel Administrator (CHM).
