Enrollment for the program opened Aug. 7, 2017 and requires a $25 registration fee in addition to one month’s payment. The prorated charge for August is $50. Subsequent months are $80 per month and include extended and all-day care for teacher workdays, early releases and holiday breaks at no additional charge. “This is a well-rounded program that includes an introduction to the Fine Arts along with all of our other activities,” said Heather White, recreation program supervisor for the city of Rocky Mount. “Learning continues long after the school bell has rung for the day.” On-site care will be provided for students attending Williford and Winstead Elementary schools. The Imperial Centre for the Arts and Sciences will host the program for other schools. Size is limited to 30 students. Transportation is available for students attending Rocky Mount Prep, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, New Life Christian Academy, Fairview, DS Johnson, Baskerville and Englewood Elementary schools, as well as Rocky Mount, Edwards and Parker Middle schools for an additional fee. Dates for after-school care are Monday, Aug. 21 through Friday, June 8 for students attending school. Before school care is offered for students attending Winstead Avenue Elementary at an additional charge. Registration must be made in person at the Parks and Recreation office on the 3rd floor of the Frederick E. Turnage Municipal Building (City Hall) in downtown Rocky Mount.
