Dubbed the largest easter egg hunt in the city, the event is scheduled for 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Imperial Centre for the Arts and Sciences. “Easter Eggstravaganza is a hugely popular event for residents and visitors to Rocky Mount,” says Special Events Coordinator Susan Ball. “It’s a time for families to get together and enjoy the many activities planned for babies and children up to age 12, and it’s all free.” Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy egg hunts every 15 minutes beginning at 2:15 p.m. for children up to age three. Egg hunts for four to six-year olds will begin at 2:30 p.m., while kids ages seven to nine will enjoy their hunts beginning at 2:45 p.m. At 3 p.m., there will be an egg hunt for special needs children. Participants ages 10 to 12 may get involved with the last egg hunt starting at 3:15 p.m. Ball says all attendees should bring a basket or bag for their eggs. The event will also include inflatable games, free admission to the Children’s Museum and Science Center, a meet and greet with some of the kids’ favorite cartoon characters and FREE hotdog combos to be given away while supplies last.
