Start making genuine connections and expanding your business. View this email in your browser Let’s talk about the importance of network marketing. It is crucial - absolutely crucial - to growing your business. I was honored to be asked from Deborah Holt Noel with UNC-TV studios and their show the Black Issues Forum to discuss the importance of networking, specifically addressing minority communities and business owners who may not be exposed to the strategies of network marketing. This crucial piece of business applies to everyone. First of all, network marketing is not a bad or deceitful thing to practice. You need to get out of your head that networking is inherently bad. Essentially, it is building relationships effectively. It is about you making genuine connections, for the mutual benefit of yourself and others. You should be mindful that the people around you help lift you up. The people around you empower you and inspire you, as well as the other way around. You inspire and lift others up. This mutual benefit is the heart of networking. Networking is building relationships, and relationships are a two way street. Strategically thinking about growth- If you're the person in your circle, and you're the smartest and most confident, then you are limited. You need to be around people who inspire you to get to where you need to go. First, do not be afraid to go to events and spaces where you can meet people and grow your network. You need to make strategic contacts for your well being and their well being. You cannot grow your brand if you hang around people who are not helping you grow. You need to connect with as many people as you can who can help you and teach you and mentor you. You have to see this as an investment. If you are going to invest in your business, you have to invest in yourself. This may mean, you see a conference or event that you know will benefit you, so you drive there, you do not attend as a wallflower or awkwardly hang out by the food table. You go with confidence, with a strategy and purpose. You put yourself out there and make genuine connections with people. Then you follow up with people afterwards and culture relationships. We thrive off of others. This is what your view of networking should be - Growing your network in a strategic way so that you become stronger. You have something unique to bring that you think people need to know and people have something they can bring to you. You have to be focused on that this year. You need to be conscious about how valuable your life and time are. I don’t have a lot of time to waste spending with people who will pull me down. I know where I need to go, and I believe that my time and your time is important. Make sure that you have a strategy in place. Prepare yourself for events. Wear an outfit that makes you the most comfortable. Go over things that will make you feel confident and strong in that space. All those little steps will help you grow your network and brand. Elevate your circles. Strategically get around people who will build you up. Seize the opportunities that you give yourself at events, conferences, meetings, to put yourself out there and make genuine connections and follow up and nurture those relationships that will push you further. Take the time to write out a strategy for growing your network. This is going to change your game dramatically if you put this as a priority. We are proud of you and believe in you. Grow in confidence and know that you have something to give others!
