This event, open to the public, will be held in the parking lot of the Nash County Courthouse. The courthouse is located at 234 W. Washington Street in Nashville, N.C. The event will include a community paper shredding, e-waste recycling and prescription drug take back program. Prescription drugs should be in the original container with the name of the drug on the bottle. Personal information may be removed. During this event, electronics, including televisions, computers and monitors, printers and scanners, keyboards, speakers, power and network cables, printed circuit boards, docking stations, routers, VCRs and DVD players, copiers and fax machines, electronic games, rechargeable batteries, telephones, cell phones, radios, stereos, CD players, audio visual equipment, typewriters, fax cartridges, cash registers, video boards and microwaves will be accepted. According to Cornelia McGee, Keep America Beautiful coordinator, Nash County Recycles Day raises awareness regarding recycling and keeps our area more livable. “These events divert waste from going into our landfill and help keep our area clean and green,” says McGee. “The prescription drug take back program provides an opportunity for residents to remove unwanted prescriptions safely and securely. They don’t have to worry about their information getting into the wrong hands.” Nash County Recycles Day is sponsored by Keep America Beautiful of Nash and Edgecombe counties, Nash County and Shred-It of NC. Nash County Recycles Day is free to the public; however, monetary donations will be accepted for Keep America Beautiful of Nash and Edgecombe counties.
