The Twin Counties Catalysts for Healthy Eating and Active Living and Active Routes to Schools’ Regions 7 and 9 would like to invite you to view and share this video of local Nash and Edgecombe schools participating in International Walk to School Day. Walk to School Day is an international movement observed every October that encourages children and families to walk to or at school. Walking to or at school promotes physical activity, reduces traffic congestion, and encourages healthier habits. Each year, more and more schools join the growing number of schools that participate in local walk to school events. If your school is not currently participating but interested, they can learn more at www.walkbiketoschool.org or http://www.communityclinicalconnections.com/What_We_Do/Active_Routes_To_School/index.html. Contact your local Active Routes to School Coordinator for help with resources, planning, and implementing your event. The local Active Routes to School coordinators’ contact information is below. The link to the video is below as well. Please let me know if you have any questions.
