Alumni Spotlight Haynes '16 Says ASPIRE Program Perfect Match Gay Brinkley Haynes successfully completed her "30-some-odd-year" journey to receiving her bachelor's degree December, 2016 when she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the Raleigh-Durham location of NCWC. As a professional whose typical work week is between 50 and 60 hours per week, Haynes needed to find a program that would fit her needs and North Carolina Wesleyan College's Adult Degree Program was the perfect match. Offering classes online and during the evenings Haynes was able to balance working full time while going back to school. "Working towards my bachelor's degree has given me more confidence both personally and professionally and has allowed me to take on more responsibility at my job. I couldn't have been more pleased with the support I received from the staff and professors at North Carolina Wesleyan College. Without their expertise, insight, support and guidance I received I would not have been able to graduate this past December!" said Haynes. Faculty/Staff Spotlight Meadows Named Women's Lacrosse Assistant Coach The NCWC Department of Athletics is pleased to announce the addition of Charlotte "Lottie" Meadows as assistant coach for the Battling Bishop women's lacrosse program. Meadows joins first-year head coach Bridget Walker in her efforts to build the reinstated program, which is slated to begin competition in the spring of 2018. Meadows comes to NC Wesleyan after a successful collegiate career at USA South for Meredith College, where she was a member of the Avenging Angels' inaugural 2013 team. The talented midfielder was an integral part of Meredith's rise to the top of the USA South, serving as team captain for three seasons and leading the Angels to back-to-back USA South Tournament Championships and NCAA berths in 2014 and 2015. She is a 2015 Meredith graduate with a B.S. degree in Exercise and Sports Science. A native of Roanoke, VA, Meadows is proud to join Wesleyan in its quest to establish Bishop lacrosse as a league contender, stating, "I am delighted to become part of the Battling Bishop family. I am thankful for this opportunity to be on staff at North Carolina Wesleyan, and I look forward to working alongside Coach Walker in building a successful program."
